The Biggest Date on the Recruiting Calendar is Less Than a Month Away
How to Make Sure You’re Prepared for June 15th
If you are a high school-aged tennis player (or the parent of one), you should be aware of the important dates in the recruiting process. For any prospective college tennis players who are finishing their sophomore years of high school, June 15th is the first big date on the recruiting calendar. This is because beginning on June 15th it is permissible, per NCAA rules, for Division 1 and 2 college tennis coaches to have recruiting contact with you. Up until then, D1 and D2 coaches can only send you recruiting questionnaires, camp information, NCAA materials and nonathletic publications from their institutions. As the prospect, you can email a coach at any time, but he or she is not allowed to respond until June 15th.
What about D3 coaches you might ask?
D3 schools operate under less strict NCAA recruiting rules. Coaches are allowed to contact prospects with emails, phone calls and text messages at any time.
So what does this mean for you and how can you prepare for June 15th?
