College Recruiting Videos - Yes, No, Maybe?
5 Tips On How To Make the Most Effective Recruiting Videos
Whether or not videos are an important part of the recruiting process varies from program to program. Coaches who are able to do a lot of traveling for recruiting often prefer to watch players in person. For these coaches, a video might be a way to get them interested initially, or it might be something that just gets ignored. For coaches who aren’t able to travel as much, video could be the only opportunity they get to see you play, making it extremely important. Because you won’t always know which group the programs you’re interested in are in when it comes to videos, I think it’s a good idea to have one available that you can send.
While videos can be useful if done properly, having a coach watch you in person is still your best bet. To increase your chances of this happening, send coaches a copy of your tournament schedule with the dates and locations you’ll be playing and keep them informed of any updates to the schedule. You never know when a coach will be in the area. Making the coach aware that you’re playing nearby could be enough to get him or her to come out and watch.
